Honestly? Probably not the work that actually matters here, but it depends on what they're offering. Traditional SEO is about getting Google to rank you on page one. The problem is, on most informational searches now, Google's AI Overview answers the question above page one — so even ranking #1 doesn't get the click. The new game is being one of the sources AI quotes in the answer itself, and that's a fundamentally different technical problem.
What we do isn't SEO layered on top of an existing site. It's rebuilding the site so it's natively AI-readable from the foundation up: a proper rendering layer that AI crawlers can actually parse, structured data that lets them understand what your business does, explicit routing for the AI bots, and content shaped to be extractable as authoritative answers. It's closer to rebuilding the foundation of a house than rearranging the furniture.
A useful single-question test: does your current site have an llms.txt file? If your SEO person doesn't know what that is, it's a fair proxy for the gap. Run your site through our free AI readiness audit — it scores you out of 100 across the things AI systems actually check. If your existing person already covered them, you'll see a high score. If not, you'll know exactly what's missing.
